Breasts, Beats, & Baby Steps Back to Self

Wrapping Up October With Grace, Grit, & a Whole Lot of Gratitude

Hey Beautiful People,

As October winds down, and we prepare to shift seasons once again, I want to take a sacred pause; not just to exhale, but to honor what this month has held.

🎀 In Honor of Breasts, Battles & Bravery.

This October, I was so hyped about my own movement, mission, and momentum that I almost forgot to stop and acknowledge something bigger.

October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month

And so today, with deep reverence, I lift up:

Every woman who caught it early.

  Every sister in the fight.

  Every soul who transitioned.

  Every family still grieving.

And every single one of us who’s ever had to examine our bodies with a new kind of fear or faith.

🕯️ If you haven’t done a self-exam recently, please do.

🩺 If something feels off, don’t wait. Schedule the appointment.

💓 Your breasts are not just beautiful, they are beacons of life.

Let this be a loving nudge to check on yourself and check on your girls…both breasts and besties.

🎢 Fright Fest: Where Black Joy, Laughter, and Legacy Collided

Whewww! This past weekend, I did something I haven’t done in a while, I let laughter lead.

I took my baby girl, my first-born son, and a radiant crew of teens and tweens to Six Flags for Fright Fest, and it was EVERYTHING.

The screams. The roller coasters. The sticky fingers from funnel cake. The late-night car rides with bass, stories, and silliness.
No phones. No filters. Just real-time memories, big belly laughs, and unfiltered joy.

But it wasn’t just about thrills. It was about Black families having fun, without trauma, without tension, without code-switching.

Just joviality. Just presence. Just us.

🧘🏾‍♀️ Back to the Mat: 11 Days of Womb-Centered Devotion

After a season of inconsistency, I’ve come home to my body.
11 days.
11 mornings.
11 moments of stretching, breathing, remembering.

My Womb Yoga practice is more than physical—it’s emotional, spiritual, and ancestral.
Each pose reminds me that I am both soft and strong.
Each breath reminds me that I am alive.
Each stretch reminds me that I am still becoming.

COOCHIE CORNER TIP OF THE WEEK

“Come Home to Yourself: One Breath, One Breast, One Bold Move at a Time.”

Try this:
• Check in with your body. Not just for lumps, but for truth.
• Take a long bath and give your breasts a gentle, intentional massage.
• Book a screening or appointment you’ve been putting off.
• Choose joy over guilt at least once this week.
• Let your movement (yoga, dance, walking) be prayer, not punishment.

🗣️ Final Word

This month reminded me of this:

We can grieve and still giggle.
We can build legacies while still enjoying our babies and our bodies.
We can honor our breasts and our bank accounts.
We can be scared on roller coasters and still brave in life.

Here’s to ending October with softness, sovereignty, and a whole lot of sacred yes energy.

In breath, brilliance & bounce-back beauty,
